The Long Haul

Qui tam cases are not resolved overnight. In fact, they are rarely resolved in three or four hundred nights.

If you become a relator, be prepared for your success to come very slowly, if at all. As noted in our Facts & Figures, the government intervenes in less than 22% of all cases filed and only 6% of recoveries occur in cases declined by the government. In our experience, qui tam cases usually take two to five years to resolve, if they are successful. They rarely take less than two years and frequently take more than three or four years.

Understand that you are in for the long haul. Becoming a relator is a decision you will live with for many years and you must be committed to seeing the case to completion. Rest assured, however, that although the wheels of justice often turn slowly, they do turn!
